ALL TOGETHER NOW an illustrated homage to the Beatles

“All Together Now!” is a micro-publishing project orchestrated by Chloé Nicolay and Anna Maria Riccobono. Fifteen illustrators from the contemporary scene share with you their vision of this legendary band, drawing inspiration freely from their songs, from “Come Together” to “Penny Lane” and “Yellow Submarine”. (Re)discover the Beatles in all their facets! The 15 illustrations will be printed in risography in 12" LP format (30x30cm) and slipped into an LP sleeve: a unique packaging that makes an amazing collector's item! A cardboard 12" LP sleeve (315 x 315 mm) 4mm thick containing 15 original illustrations in 4-color risography on 120g Munken Paper. 250 copies only. Why the Beatles? Self-proclaimed victims of Beatlemania (60 years after the fact!), we have a special love for the music of these four Liverpool boys. Their unparalleled sense of melody and harmonies, their joyful and irreverent musical experimentations, the psychedelic poetry of their lyrics... so many things that allowed the Beatles to revolutionize pop music in their time, and which continue to inspire generations of people and artists to this day. A band elevated to the rank of myth that few people know in depth, and that we aspire to make you (re)discover in all their facets! Each artist participating in this project has a special story with The Beatles, and we invite you to read the publications tab to discover their interviews. What is risography? For this project we decided to use risograph, a half-handcrafted printing technique halfway between screenprinting and classic inkjet printing. This drum printer was created in Japan in the 1980s for simple office use but over the last 10 years, riso has returned to the forefront of the artistic scene. It offers several advantages: the possibility of printing colors of unequaled intensity, which can even be fluorescent or metallic, but also its matte and slightly grainy finish, its small shifts and imperfections which give it a characteristic vintage appearance. Perfect for this project! We chose to collaborate with Rdryer Studio, an independent printmaker based in Brussels, who suggested a 4-color palette : Blue, Fluorescent Pink, Yellow & Black on a beautiful Munken 120g art paper. If you want to know more about riso, this website gives you more details about the process. Two creators initiated this project: Chloé Nicolay and Anna Maria Riccobono. Chloé has worked for 10 years as a freelance illustrator and storyboarder for animated films. After graduating from Gobelins, she worked on numerous TV shows and feature films for France and the US (“Arcane” for Netflix, “The Amazing World of Gumball” for Cartoon Network, “TMNT Mutant Mayhem” for Nickelodeon, “The Character of Rain” for Maybe Movies, “Sing!” for Illumination Mac Guff…). Her talent also led her to participate in the Artbook for the 20th anniversary of Gorillaz, and to appear in the antology “Duo” published by Glénat. Anna Maria has rooted herself in the city of Lyon since her studies at the Émile Cohl art school. Her professional life is shared between commissioned work (for clients such as Bayard Presse, Dupuis, Le 1, Le Centre Pompidou...) and her personal work, often printed in screen printing or risography. Her work draws inspiration from her travels and years spent abroad, her taste for dreamlike compositions, and sometimes a touch of eroticism. In 2022, she co-founded the Atelier Paravent with other illustrators and comic book authors, and co-created the very first illustration festival in Lyon, Bourrage Papier.
