<p><strong>Why &quot;Au Bonheur des Gens&quot;?</strong><br /> Au Bonheur des Gens will be a welcoming, warm place where culture and literature are combined with transmission and living together. A bookstore which nurtures connection between generations, a place to nourish both your mind and your taste buds.&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> <strong>Who am I ?</strong></p> <p>A businesswoman with experience spanning trade, communication and art in France, England and Switzerland, I plan to use my experience and skills to now manage my own business. I am passionate about literature, proactive and creative and since settling in the Gard, in South of France, I want to create a place for the community. Ever the pragmatist, upon embarking on this project I underwent training in bookstore management and created a network with competent people in the trade. If the foundations are solid, the house is solid and I am deeply convinced that culture, interaction and proximity to the people around us are essential.</p> <p><img alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/704725/0f73e581-6ad7-42a9-b71b-6c2102f8a07c.jpg" width="100%" /></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The project in detail</strong></p> <p>The bookstore will have a varied offer of more than 4000 works, beautiful stationary, cards, games and creative hobby supplies. The spacious layout will give airy aisles,<strong>&nbsp;</strong>the perfect place for regular events and workshops for young and old alike.</p> <p>The adjoining&nbsp;tea room and juice bar will have a warm and cozy interior. Quality local products from artisan pastries to specialized teas and coffees (including a certified local tea producer), and local organic producer to do our healthy fresh juices/smoothies,&nbsp;will be on offer for both eat-in or take away.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Counterparts and the role of contributors</strong></p> <p>Each contribution will be rewarded with a gift and in keeping with the essence of local community, we want to honour all contributors with having their names registered on our reception desk.</p> <p><strong>The project&#39;s progress</strong><br /> Today, the location is in the city center of Al&egrave;s.</p> <p>&ldquo;Au Bonheur des Gens&rdquo; is supported by BookConseil, which has created and supported more than 70 bookstores in France. Grants are advancing with the Occitanie Book and reading region organisation.</p>
