HELP US TO OPEN AN ORGANIC COFFEE IN BALI THAT WILL PROVIDE WORK AND INDEPENDANCE FOR ADULTS WITH DOWN SYNDROME.

In Bedulu, the Yayasan Widyaguna school bas the project to create a local and organic café in collaboration with adulte with down syndrome from their foundation. The café will be the workplace of these adults who will be able to demonstrate their cooking skills, server talent and to sell their art.
For the moment in Bali, there is no chance for these young people with disabilities to find a job. Not only will the coffee place give them a job, but they will also increase their self-confidence and prove to them that they can be independent and earn their own money.

8 children from the school have already reached the age of 20 we can give them a boost!

If the operation is successful, it will also have an impact on the Balinese community, thereby changing the mentality around mental disability and their ability. We can only hope that this will encourage other businesses to recruit them.

The project: New Zealand trip, a solidarity and ecological adventure

In order to support the Yayasan Widyaguna school I wilk travel, bicycle, hike, meet schools and actor of ecologic and solidarity projects trough New Zealand to raise funds. An adventure that lives up to the courage of the students in the school who always move forward. An ecological challenge to support the efforts and creation of the school's organic garden that will provide fruits and veggies for the future coffee. A solidarity challenge above all at the image of the school and its message "Allow differences, respect differences until the differences are no longer different. "

About Yayasan Widyaguna School
Yayasan Widyaguna is not only a school open to neighborhood children but also to orphaned and children with mental and/or physical disabilities. Opened since 2006 by its founder Ketut Sadia every morning the students rush to meet from Monday to Friday.

Every morning starts with dancing, singing and moving. The children are then divided into three classes: Class A for children in wheelchairs, Class B for autistic or hyperactive children and Class C for children with Down Syndrome. The school employs its own teachers but also depends on volunteers who come to help them.

Since its creation, the school has welcomed 36 students from the surrounding area, giving them a sponsor to help them meet their needs, care and education.

Since 2019 a new project is underway, in order to offer healthy menus to the children of the school, the Yayasan Widyaguna school has opened its own organic garden to grow its fruits and vegetables, the project is still developing but the first harvests have to start. This is an opportunity for students to cultivate their independence and develop their skills in cooking and gardening. The relationship with nature and its respect is one of the values of the Bedulu school where you learn to live with your environment.

About Delphine

In May 2018 I spend some time volunteering with the school of Bedulu, this experience deeply marked me, it is naturally that back in Bali this summer I wanted to go back to share time with them.
Then this idea sprouted!

Passionate about sport and the environment, it’s naturally that this project of solidarity and ecologic has presented itself.

Travel is also one of my passions! It's been three years that I travel around the globe, after a year in Australia and a stop in the beautiful French mountains, I left again on the roads of India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and then, here I am in New Zealand for this new adventure!

This expedition if it also a beautiful trip is above of all a beautiful project which I hope will lead me to meet a lot of support for the school of Bedulu and to spread their message.
