P. Lovecraft…</p> <p style="margin-top: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 0px 12px 0px 0px;"> C'était pourtant le cas de Pierre-Henri Debiès, du temps de sa jeunesse poitevine. <i>« Je jouais pas mal aux jeux de rôles quand j'étais ado,</i> se souvient le réalisateur, désormais âgé de 34 ans et installé à Paris. <i>En naviguant dans cet univers, j'ai découvert Howard Philipps Lovecraft et je suis tombé fou de son style d'écriture, de la structure de ses récits où le narrateur flirte souvent avec la folie</i>…<i> Dès cette époque, j'ai eu envie d'adapter au cinéma sa nouvelle intitulée " Le cauchemar d'Innsmouth ". Ça fait donc plus de vingt ans que je rêve de réaliser ce film ! »</i><br /> Ce rêve – d'apparence assez cauchemardesque – le cofondateur des Films de la Lymphe pourrait bien le réaliser cette année. C'est le but du projet « Carpenter Brut - Escape from Midwich Valley » qui a été mis en ligne sur la plateforme de financement participatif KissKiss BankBank.<br /> Carpenter Brut est un musicien électro qui a choisi ce nom en hommage au réalisateur de films d'horreur John Carpenter.<i> « J'ai d'abord découvert sa musique, </i>se souvient Pierre-Henri Debiès. <i>Puis j'ai réalisé que je connaissais le musicien caché derrière ce pseudo</i> <i>et que j'avais déjà travaillé avec lui. Son morceau intitulé " Escape from Midwich Valley " collait totalement avec le scénario que j'avais imaginé pour adapter la nouvelle de Lovecraft. Je lui ai demandé si je pouvais utiliser sa musique et il m'a laissé carte blanche. »</i><br /> Pour boucler ce projet très personnel, le réalisateur – qui travaille au sein de la société de production Art Park – compte donc sur la générosité des donateurs. Pour le moment 1.500 euros ont été collectés sur un budget total de 4.000 €. <i>« C'est un budget très serré, qui peut paraître limité pour un projet aussi ambitieux</i>. <i>Mais tous les courts-métrages qu'on a tournés avec les Films de la Lymphe, entre 2000 et 2008, m'ont habitué à recourir au système D. Et c'est aussi un choix de tourner dans l'urgence, avec peu de moyens</i>…<i> Ça donne énormément d'énergie. »</i></p> <p style="margin-top: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 0px 12px 0px 0px;">  <b>Un casting picto-poitevin</b></p> <p style="margin-top: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 0px 12px 0px 0px;"> Le casting s'annonce très picto-poitevin : les comédiens Édouard Audouin, Julien Guibert et Sophie Chamoux tiendront les rôles principaux de ce court-métrage d'environ 8 minutes, sans dialogues, uniquement servi par la musique de Carpenter Brut. Et, si le budget est bouclé d'ici un mois, le tournage devrait débuter mi-juin, à Trouville-sur-Mer.
