Within this project, audience and sponsors provide the greater part of funding needed to run the Centre, the programming is taken care of by the musicians themselves, and music-lovers give commissions to young composers...

The reality:

The 400-seat Salle Cortot is perfectly suited to chamber music, be it piano, strings, wind instruments or voice… All are enhanced by the superb acoustics and the remarkable proximity between audience and stage.

Thanks to extensive renovations, the Foyer has been refurbished and offers a convivial place to meet. The presence of students from the nearby École Normale de Musique provides a natural link with the Chamber Music Centre and its focus on sharing music and the discovery of young talent.

The objective is to create a place that’s full of life. Somewhere to meet musicians and music lovers, composers and students... There are also books and recordings to browse here. It’s a place that acts as a link between artists and members of the public who want to learn, to increase their knowledge and understanding of music, but most of all, to enjoy themselves !

An unchanging weekly programme schedule from November to April means that audiences get into the habit of attending regularly at the same time each week, and recommending the evening performances to their friends. It’s a full programme, easy to remember, and it fits in with all lifestyles.

THURSDAYS - FRIDAYS - SATURDAYS

Concerts last for one hour on average.

Concert at 8 p.m.

Consists of a single masterpiece, performed by one of today’s most talented young ensembles or soloists.

“Freshly composed”

An opportunity to hear a new work, if the idea appeals to you, between each of the evening’s two concerts.

Concert at 9.30 p.m.

A permanent programme given by the in-house troupe of musicians.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Bach Cantatas

Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., the public is invite to share coffee, croissants, and… a musical score. At 11:00, all present join in learning the day’s featured Bach chorale, which is sung shortly thereafter in the concert hall.

SUNDAY AFTERNOONS (starting from season 2)

Concerts for Young People

Each session looks at a music topic such as melody, rhythm, wind instruments, keyboards, musical stories etc.

Music Lovers’ Club

Discussions, lectures, analysis of great masterpieces, Schubertiads, historical background, encounters – and more. An original way to satisfy the public’s desire to better understand the music they love.Une programmation hebdomadaire systématique de novembre à avril permet de fidéliser le public à des rendez-vous réguliers ou de recommander une soirée à des amis. Cette programmation est riche, simple à retenir et convient à tous les modes de vie.

A troupe of Musicians

A company of top-level musicians work together under the direction of a well-known artist to work on programmes especially devised by the Centre, just like a company of actors. Their work is based not only on the works they’re performing, but also on their historical, social and biographical context.

Young Talent

The first concert of the evening is devoted to young soloists and new ensembles (string or piano trio and string quartet) who – over the course of three to four weeks – showcase one of the masterpieces from their repertoire.

Young composers

Between each of the evening’s two concerts, the audience is invited to listen to a short, recently composed work (10’). Crowd-funding is set up for the composers performed and the public thus commissions a new work for the following season. The year after, the Centre commissions an other work from one of these composers – allowing them to be present for three consecutive seasons at the Centre, strengthening thereby their relationship with Centre audiences.

A virtual exhibition will be made available to the public on the Centre’s website, containing all the resources used by the musicians during their work source material, historical documents, analysis, literary correspondence, images that inspire, philosophical writings, examples of music and traditional dance).

The programme for these exhibitions is put together by a committee of art-scientists including musicologists, historians and literature specialists.

Chairman Philippe Fanjas

Artistic Director Jérôme Pernoo

General Manager Patrick Marijon

Fundraising Patrick Petit

Communication Thibault Prioul

Production Jean-Baptiste Caspar

Dramaturg Marianne Pernoo-Bécache

Allocation of funds

Raising funds is indispensable to the launch of the project. It will help finance this final year of preparation during which, since the concerts have not yet begun, the association is not itself generating any income.

Funds raised will facilitate:

• The launch of the project

• Organisation of a presentation evening

• Organising the first rehearsals

• Setting up a Patrons’ Club

• Producing the first publicity materials (season’s brochure, flyers, posters...)

• Getting our first audience, that we’re all ready to start pampering!

Supporting the Centre de Musique de Chambre de Paris will entitle French taxpayers to a tax concession equal to 66% of the amount paid.

E.g.: A €100 donation entitles you to a tax concession of €66. The actual cost of your donation is €34.

Patrons’ Club

As a member of the Patron’s Club, each business or individual is a participant in the life of the centre, and is welcome to attend the Centre’s exclusive meetings with the artistic leadership, thereby sensitizing patrons to the organisations artistic policy, organisation and finances. But the purpose of these meetings is also to give you a thoroughly enjoyable evening!
