"Friends with Benefits" is an international festival of dance, choreography and performance. The festival will take place in the former Molière's cinema building from the 1930's, rehabilitated since 2009 by the none-profit organisation Projection-room in Brussels. The festival is bent on offering visibility to an emerging artistic scene; facilitating the meeting with different types of audience and cultural actors; contributing to the cultural developpment of this specific space ; considering, experimenting a model of artistic production based on exchange of services and collective organization. The title of the festival "Friends with Benefits" stands as a state of affairs: the ambivalent relation between individuals bound with more than one ties. The festival is an opportunity to reflect on the social relations and artistic kinship that underlie all artistic production: collaborations, affinities, friendships, alliances, exchanges, services ... Conceived as a knot of relationships, exchanges and affinities, the festival will present a group of artists from different horizons and practices, yet constituting a sense of generation, of community. Like a cameo choreography , different formats and players will overlap in a multifaceted event: an intercative dance juke box, a full discography lip synced, radiophonic interventions, an immaterial gallery opening or even performance for pets and their human friends in apartment. Friends with benefits is a choreography of choreographies , an attempt to offer an event drawing space, time, movement and relationships as a total sensory experience.
