My name is Jaime Eliseo Pérez Hernández, I am 27 years old, I am from Managua, Nicaragua where I currently live. I am a civil engineer recently graduated from the Central American University (UCA, Managua Nicaragua). I currently work as a teacher of mathematics and physics in a secondary school. I have worked in social projects that support local development in the city where I live, I also worked as a group coordinator in social projects and teacher of drawing, painting and music (guitar).

I started this project as an observer of the population that I intend to help, it should be noted that the inhabitants of this community are of limited economic resources where their main socio-economic activity is agriculture (corn and beans).

In spite of being a population mainly of farmers, in their houses they do not plant any type of vegetables or vegetables for their own consumption, due to the scarcity of seeds and lack of economic resources to obtain them.

Due to the aforementioned, his diet is not balanced, almost it is not customary to consume vegetables or vegetables, bringing with him a bad diet.

With the creation of gardens in the houses each family will be responsible for planting and harvesting their own vegetables and vegetables, as well as some necessary and fundamental species in a balanced diet, rich in nutrients and minerals important for proper nutrition and proper functioning of our body .

At first, I intend to benefit nine (9) families with this project, providing support, training, support, tools, seeds and supplies necessary for the creation, maintenance and care of the family garden.

In this way, the beneficiary families will have quality food, fresh, which will incorporate their diets into their daily consumption foods, which will contribute to stay healthy and strong.

It is very important to raise awareness about the importance of eating healthy and balanced by incorporating vegetables and vegetables into the diets of our families, mainly children who are in the process of development.

The main advantages that I intend to take advantage of are the families' knowledge regarding the agriculture of basic grains (beans and corn) and the fertility of the land. The land is very fertile and you can harvest almost any type of vegetables satisfactorily.

It should be noted that the implementation of family gardens contribute greatly by showing a positive impact on the economy and local development of families and communities.

There will be a notable change in eating habits and therefore better health in the beneficiary population, which will have quality vegetables and vegetables in the comfort of their homes.

Location of the project:

El Zapote Community # 1, located in the municipality of the old city, department of Nueva Segovia, Ocotal.

Background of the community:

The community of El Zapote # 1 is located in the municipality of Ciudad Antiguo, which in turn is located in Nueva Segovia, Ocotal.

El Zapote # 1 is located between the communities of Santa Clara and Susucayán approximately 265km from the capital of Managua.

This community has approximately 96 families, most of them children and women.

They have a school in which only the primary modality (1st - 6th grade) is attended, in the morning shift.

There is no potable water service, the community is supplied through wells built by hand, is a rural community in which there are many basic services.

This community has a high poverty rate, therefore, low economic resources and does not have local or foreign support, so this project that I will do in the community will come to dynamize its economic and food situation directly. in this way it will contribute to the socio-economic development of its inhabitants and in this way we will contribute to improve their quality of life.
