Oliver Campana - new album
"Since the release of 'Life's Beautiful' in 2012, I've experimented, worked, and composed a lot! Inspired by various encounters, in studios, and on stages, I now feel the desire to dive back into the essence of sound and the urgency to record these new tracks. The upcoming album maintains a strong Rock vibe but occasionally delves into more intimate territories, keeping my signature while taking a sleeker and more modern turn. This record aims to thrill Rock fans and bring hope to music lovers seeking emotions in the midst of the mundane. Join the fundraising campaign and embark on this musical adventure with me"Oli. Various perks await – preorders, collectors' items, invitations to showcases, backstage access, concerts, and more. Oliver who? Oliver Campana, or"Oli" for some. Many of you english speakers may recall my journey since 1994 when I settled in North London to mix with the Indie Rock scene , or in 1997 when I was the singer with The Nervous Wrecks, gigging all over the place . Busy years for me ! Remember The Black Lion, Ned Kelly's, The Falcon, The Spotted Dog, The Mean Fiddler, The Monarch, The Crown, Shepherds Bush Walkabout and so on.. Or maybe in the south of France where I came back from London with flight cases full of demos, sounds, and music. Remember those concerts in the South, from Espace Julien in Marseille to the Emergenza festival finale at Elysée Montmartre in Paris, and opening for Louis Bertignac at the Festival des Garrigues. In 2010, I released my first EP in France under my name: 'My Starlight (4 Rough Cuts).' Perhaps you crossed paths with me during the creation and promotion of the subsequent 2012 album 'Life's Beautiful' and its single 'Broken Hearted.' Some followed me to Parisian showcases at Scène Bastille and Sentier des Halles, while others enjoyed a Da Boogie Pop covers gig or caught me opening for Gérald de Palmas. What about recent times? Truth be told, I needed some creative distance. In 2013, I terminated my record contract due to group management issues, feeling mentally drained. Three years later, encounters with Moho Chemlakh (former guitarist of Trust) and "the beau bizarre" Christophe reignited my compositional spark. In June 2018, I made a special appearance at the Moline Festival in Marseille, playing some unreleased tracks with a specially assembled band. Since the pandemic, I've set up my home studio surrounded by vineyards, advancing my new tracks. Those who know me knew the absence couldn't last. So here I am, ready for the adventure with an urgent need to record and a solid structure in place. With new tracks like 'Fallen from the Stars' and 'Mirror' I explore fresh sounds, breaking away from the usual format. The writing becomes more impactful, carrying an epic hope in challenging times. I invite all who've loved my music, my recognizable voice, and melodies to join me in this project. Final studio sessions kick off in late August 2024 with a revamped team of musicians, co-composers, and sound engineers – stay tuned for exciting updates. I trust this artistic journey will be truly special, delivering a powerful album that spices up the music scene. I need your support to kickstart the locomotive and live this story with you. There are fantastic rewards, from great sound to upcoming concerts !
