The ensemble plays on period instruments in historically informed performance. Works by Johann Sebastian Bach are there focus. Il Gardellino and Griet&nbsp;have worked together in various projects and concerts, mainly playing works by Bach. More info at <a href="http://www.ilgardellino.be" target="_blank">www.ilgardellino.be</a></p> </blockquote> <p><img alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/644502/foto_opname_jan_hordijk_-_2-1580295091.jpg" width="100%" /></p> <h3><strong>Three important reasons for this project</strong></h3> <p>Having participated in numerous cd recordings, both as a soloist and an ensemble-singer, I finally will record my first solo-album. Because I have a very long and loving relationship with baroque music, this cd will cover three great baroque composers: Buxtehude, Telemann and J.S. Bach. The splendid musicians of il Gardellino baroque ensemble and I are recording&nbsp;during 4 days in january 2020. The recording&nbsp;location is&nbsp;a church in Hilversum (NL) where we have a small but beautiful baroque organ at our disposal.</p> <p>Secondly, the music I carefully selected are pieces that suit my voice very well and speak directly to my and probably (m)any soul(s): they combine introspection and extrovertism, darkness and brightness, restlessness and peace.</p> <p>And last but not least: after almost every concert I sang in the last couple of years, people who were in the audience came to me or wrote me to say thanks for my generous, soulful singing and the consolation I gave them. Often they openhartedly tell me part of their life story or a heavy occurence that happened lately. Every story touches me. &nbsp;Many people seem to search for consolation, for a moment of peace or have the need to escape for some time from reality into music. With this project I wish to give some beauty and peace to any human being.</p> <p><img alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/644503/GdG-111-1580295159.jpg" width="100%" /></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3><strong>Program &amp; Musicians</strong></h3> <p>The program, with the title of &ldquo;Stumme Seufzer, Stille Klagen&rdquo; (Speechless sighs, silent moans), consists of three solo cantatas and three instrumental pieces by composers J.S.Bach, G.Ph.Telemann and D.Buxtehude.
