La collecte servira à enregistrer en studio 4 morceaux pour constituer mon EP.

Je souhaite donner à ce premier EP des sonorités à la fois Rn’B, Jazz et Hip-Hop mais aussi vous offrir quelques surprises !

Pour réaliser ce projet qui me tient particulièrement à cœur et pour ne négliger aucun aspect de la production, je me suis entouré d’une équipe de professionnels avec lesquels je suis (très) fier de travailler.

Comme vous pouvez le constater les 2600 euros n'enveloppent pas le budget total dont nous avons besoin pour la production et la diffusion du projet, le reste du budget étant financé par nous-mêmes.

Who is Student Kay?

If you like water, you already like 72% of me.

Hi everybody! I’m Student Kay, I’m 25, I’m percussionist and singer-songwriter. And I love water too. But more seriously, what I like above all is music. That’s why I have a degree from the conservatory and I’m studying musicology at the Sorbonne Faculty in Paris.

I’ve been close to music since I was born, thanks to my musical family : my father, my brothers and my sisters are musicians. I can tell you Family Sundays are very joyful (except for the neighbors)!

I’ve always studied music, from the day I discovered until now, listening to different genres thanks to my father, and playing for various bands, from jazz to rock. I’m very lucky to perform on stage, sharing so much emotions with the audience. I took time to find and deepening my style, but in 2015, I decided to start a professional solo career under the name Student Kay !

My music is the result of a multicultural environment, mixing various genres: modern jazz (Robert Glasper), hip hop (J-Dilla), classical music (Yoko Kanno) and progressive rock (Circa Survive).

« Student », because I think I have to learn all the time,

« Kay » because that’s the diminutive of my name.

I released a single and a clip of my first composition « Girls in the 21st century ».

I’ve won the National Contest « Chante Ta Marseillaise » (Sing Your Own French Hymn), organized by the French Ministry of National Defence. I was lucky to introduce my project in a private showcase at Studio Bleu, Paris, on the 5th of august, 2016. It was fire!

This year, I would like to share my musical and visual world in the best conditions. This is why I’m asking YOUR help to make my project happen.

How will be used the crowdfunding?

The release of an EP The crowdfunding will help to record 4 tracks in studio to create an EP. I want to give this first EP R&B, jazz and hip-hop vibes, but also offering you some surprises! To make this project and not to neglect any aspect of the production, I’m surrounded by a team of professionals I’m (very) proud to work with.

Division of the budget Studio needs:

Recordings : 1000 euros

Arrangement, Mixing and Mastering : 900 euros

National distribution and communication

Press and radio promotion

Web and social networks promotion
