Biographie

That Summer est un groupe de rock/post-rock français. Initié au début des années 1990 comme le projet d’un seul homme, David Sanson, That Summer a évolué, au fil des albums, d’une musique atmosphérique proche de la dark-folk à un rock volontiers expérimental, en passant par à des compositions plus électroniques. A partir de Clear, album paru en 2005 chez Talitres, That Summer commence à donner des concerts et devient un véritable groupe composé, autour de son fondateur, d’Etienne Bonhomme, Olivier Cavaillé et Nikolu Jorio : c’est en quatuor qu’a été enregistré, à l’été 2008, l’album Near Miss, paru en septembre 2010 chez Talitres Records. En marge de sa discographie, That Summer a régulièrement collaboré avec des plasticiens contemporains.

That Summer is a French rock/post-rock group. Founded as a solo project by David Sanson at the beginning of the 90s, That Summer has evolved in style from simple atmospheric music similar to dark-folk, towards a voluntarily experimental rock and more electronic compositions. From the album Clear, which appeared in 2005 on the Talitres label onwards, That Summer started to give concerts as true live band developing into a four piece with the arrival of Etienne Bonhomme, Olivier Cavaillé and Nikolu Jorio. It was with this group that the album Near Miss was recorded in the summer of 2008 and released on Talitres in September 2010. In addition to its output as a group, That Summer has also been involved in a number of side projects in collaboration with various contemporary artists.
