INTERACTIVE PERFORMANCE FOR THE PUBLIC SPACE DANCE & DIGITAL FOR PEACE AND UNITY IN THE WORLD BASED ON AN ORIGINAL IDEA BY ARTIST MARIE SERRUYA Marie Serruya is a multidisciplinary artist for whom all means are good to transmit and share what inspires her. From sculpture to comedy, from performance to installation, from knife throwing to dance, she draws her inspiration from what surrounds her and from her experiences, which she varies to the maximum. The public, on their phones and thanks to the Chromavid application, change the costume of the green fellows according to a large choice: videos with a disco atmosphere in the colors of Ukraine and Russia. The QR codes giving access to the application, are stuck on the green fellows THE GREEN FELLOWS... IN THE ORIGIN... OR SHOULD WE SAY THE GREEN FREE FELLOWS!? In 2020, during the Parisian lockdowns, armed with a green background and accompanied by dancers, acrobats and comedians, no matter the place, she changes scenery to give back joy and lightness to the passers-by who at their contact sketch magnificent smiles and start dancing! Little by little, a wind of freedom blows and inspires the artist and his street companions Several times arrested, even the police participated in this movement for freedom. THE GREEN FELLOWS... THE STORY OF A REVELATION AT THE BEGINNING THEY ARE ONLY CARRIERS OF THE GREEN BACKGROUND... But... Their intriguing, funny, confusing, unusual, moving, comforting, entertaining, daring presence... led by joyful dancers, attracts like a magnet young and old! The greens fellows are born! And change color according to the mood! The costume covers the mouth and nose, it is "covid-free". A nod to what has become part of everyone's daily life around the world in an almost natural way. And here we go! From Paris to Saint Tropez, from Mexico to Los Angeles, passing through Las Vegas, Lyon, Deauville, and other French regions... they go on an adventure and invite themselves in public and private places to meet people, spreading this feeling so dear to all of us: FREEDOM! AND TODAY ? The green fellows stand for peace, because everyone wants peace of course. We always act for freedom because we do not forget that our freedom has been greatly reduced. We dance for peace, for Ukraine, Russia, for all the countries at war, for all the conflicts that never seem to end. We work for the Union - and not the division - for the people, the families, the persons... THE MESSAGE OF THE GREEN FELLOWS The green fellows are here to spread through dance: Joy, Peace and Freedom. Thanks to the green fellows and their apparent anonymity and chameleon-like possibilities, everyone can identify and project themselves. Without labels or gender, the green fellows are free. Devoid of any representation and able to take the color of our desires, they become a protean and universal symbol. The chromavid application The live change of color of the green fellows is realized thanks to the chromavid application. Designed by young developers, its use refers to the drift of governance towards a technological utilitarianism dedicated to the surveillance of citizens. This rise in power of these tools has and will have visible impacts on the organization of our societies: record temperatures, hijacking and influence games of social networks aimed at directing thought, collection of private data under the guise of entertainment, facial recognition by the giants of Tech,... The use of this application, against the backdrop of a call for freedom, echoes the controversies surrounding all forms of surveillance. It questions the transformation, through social networks, of the autonomous citizen into a manipulable mass at the expense of individual freedom and choice. AND ALSO... The performance is participatory: the dancers are recruited from associations and dance schools or any other amateur participants with a sense of movement and/or in good physical condition. For this we are launching a call for participation from associations domiciled in the municipalities hosting the performance. WITH THE EXCEPTIONAL PRESENCE OF SINGER CASEY ABRAMS To set the performance to music, Marie Serruya collaborates with singer and musician Casey Abrams, originally from California. Genius of the double bass, he participates with all his voice and all his hair by creating a special title Freedom. She is a comedian, a plastic artist, a sculptor and film director. Born into an artistic family, her childhood was marked by the successive discovery of theater, cinema, photography, drawing, painting, creative process, fashion, music... She developed a sharp sense for observing the world around her: the source of her multifaceted expression. From sculpture to comedy, from performance to installation, from knife throwing to dance, she extracts her inspiration from her surroundings and experiences, which she varies as much as possible. Taking inspiration from theater, masks and faces, her portraits designed in clay, enamel, watercolor, gouache, gold leaf, bronze, video and other media, whether minute or gigantic, static or animated, are the guiding theme of her work. A keen observer, it is by taking a sharp look at the men and women who cross her path that she develops her unique and delightfully offbeat universe. Heidi Leigh, AFA NYC THE ARTISTS INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT SANDRINE KOLASSA Dancer, choreographer, teacher and cultural manager. She entered the professional world of dance by training for the State Diploma of Dance Teacher obtained in 1996. Then, after choreographic studies at the Conservatories of Angers, Lyon and Paris enriched by a self-taught training, including improvisation and contact improvisation, with renowned teachers (such as Françoise and Dominique Dupuy, Jean Christophe Paré, Lulla Chourlin, Claire Fillon, Urs Stauffer, Mark Tompkins, Kirstie Simson ...), she begins a career as a dancer-performer. She works both with international companies (notably François Ben Aîm, the Cie Ex Nihilo, Didier Théron, Pierre Deloche, Héla Fattoumi/Eric Lamoureux at the Centre Chorégraphique de Caen Basse Normandie ...) and more discreet choreographers (Sophie Lamarche Damoure, Jacky Auvray, the Cie Silenda- Laura Simi/Damiano Foà ...) She also participates in many performative projects mixing different artistic specificities (video, photo, museum exhibition, visual arts, music, poetry ...) In 2010 she participates in SKITE initiated by Jean Marc Adolphe and meets many international artists. She is also involved in several projects for amateurs and specific audiences. In 2008, she joined the Shayela Company, where she created several works as well as numerous projects for amateur dancers, and where she was involved in local cultural awareness policies. She co-signed 4 creations: "Limbes", a piece with an olfactory score; "On Air", a concert danced with the rock band Guns of Brixton; "Shift", a dance with live music; the Danse Nature project "Ikédori", a dance, video, photo and sound construction performance; and she signed "le pli du roseau", a solo dance with a sound, light and plastic score. In 2016, following an injury, she stopped her dance career and obtained a master's degree in cultural management. Today she teaches dance at the Conservatoire de Lyon and accompanies artists in production/dissemination. Since 2021, she is solicited as an artistic coach for the shooting of music videos and returns to the stage for performances and creations more respectful of the physical commitment of the dancers-interpreters. YANN CORLAY Dancer, teacher, artistic director, producer. A professional dancer for 25 years (2500 international performances to his credit), he is now and has been for 15 years the artistic director of the Compagnie Myriam Dooge. His exploration of gesture began with the practice of mime (Marceau technique), then classical dance at the Royal Academy of Dance (London). It is then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de la Cité de la Musique Paris-Villette, that he will be trained in the techniques of contemporary dance (Cunningham, Limon, Nicolaïs, Graham, Horton, Carlson...), as well as in kinesiology applied to movement with O Rouquet, W Piollet, J Guizérix. He will meet there choreographers marking for his generation (O Duboc, D Bagouet, F Ramalingom, H Cathala, D Petit, A Preljocaj, C Bastin and P Allio, D Larrieu, V Farber...). In New York he was introduced to contact dance and release with the dancers of the Trisha Brown Dance Company, then to improvisation and instantaneous composition with Julyen Hamilton. He gradually added to his training the techniques of Topeng (masked theater in Bali), LSF (French sign language), flamenco, Irish dances, and body percussion. In addition, he practices calligraphy and is passionate about exploring techniques related to movement in the image (video editing on Final Cut Pro, after effect animation, photoshop, and mapping on millumin). He intervenes in schools, colleges (CAC MICACO), high schools (PEPS, ALYCCE and EAC), and universities, for workshops and cooperative, multidisciplinary and transversal artistic projects. It also intervenes with the inhabitants for the installation of participative artistic gestures aiming at stimulating the emergence of the creativity and to allow the access to the sensitive for all (territorial artistic and cultural school residences DRAC and CLEA). PHILIPPE ROUAIRE Dancer, choreographer and teacher. After a solid training (conservatory of Caen and Paris), he became a professional contemporary dancer during 25 years with many national and international companies, among which the National Choreographic Centers of Caen and Belfort (Direction H.Fattoumi and E.Lamoureux), the Thierry Niang company, the Danish Contemporary Ballet (Direction Jens Bjeregaard), the Italian company SIlenda... Recognized by his peers, he has participated with great satisfaction in more than 30 projects and choreographic tours in Europe and in the World. At the same time and for 10 years, he co-directed the Shayela Company with the choreographer and dancer Sandrine Kolassa. They have co-written several shows and choreographic projects that have thrilled a large audience. A teacher at heart and a State Diploma, he devotes himself to teaching dance and transmits his experience as a performer to many audiences at all levels in different structures and different settings: preparation and training of professional dancers within companies, for amateur groups, teachers, high school students, children, incarcerated people...
