Tipa was born in a joke. It is the assembly of "tigre & pajarito" ("tiger and small bird"). Tipa means "girl", as well, in Spanish. Their first show set in the depths of Tokyo.

Then came to Barcelona, Paris, and festivals in Brazil. Very influenced by jazz and Brazilian music with sometimes a bit of electronic music, texts are in French, and are very important.

Every show of Tipa is theatrical, danced, with communication with the public. Tipa, who travelled through the world, put its legs on the ground recently and wishes only one thing at the moment :

record his first album: 100% COTON ("100 cotton")!

ティパというのは、ある言葉遊びからできたもの。「フランス語のティーグル〔虎Tigre〕とスペイン語のパラヒート〔小鳥Pajarito〕」を組み合わせて縮めてできたのが「ティパ」なのです。

そして、「ティパ」というのはスペイン語で女の子のことでもあるんです…

ひとりの「ティパ」とギタリストの二人組、TIPAが産声をあげたのは、帳の落ちた東京の片隅。とあるバーで日の目を見た（というより「夜」の目を見た？！）のです。

二人はその後、バルセロナやパリ、そしてブラジルのフェスティバルでのライブに飛び回りました！

ジャズとブラジル音楽の影響を受け、ときにはエレクトロのテイストも織り交ぜるティパですが、フランス語の歌詞もとても大切にしています。

ティパのショーは、ドラマチックでダンサブル、観客との距離もとっても近いんです。

世界ツアーを終えたあと、最近ティパは地に足をつけ、今はただひとつのことを願っているのです。

それは、ファースト・アルバム「１００％コットン」をレコーディングすること！

O nome da banda, “Tipa”, nasceu de uma brincadeira. É a montagem das palavras "tigre & pajarito" (tigre e passarinho, em espanhol), que acabaram dando “Tipa”. Tipa também quer dizer garota, né...

Assim foi que a “Tipa” nasceu, formando uma dupla junto com seu guitarrista, surgindo a banda das profundezas da noite em Tôkio. A dupla então seguiu pelo Japão, pela Espanha, pela França, e acabou se apresentando em festivais no Brasil !

Influenciados pelo jazz e pela música brasileira, e às vezes com um leve toque de eletrônica, Tipa escreve as suas canções todas em francês, compartilhando desse modo toda a intensidade poética com que foram compostas.

Cada show de Tipa é teatro, dança e comunicação intensamente direita com o público. Depois de percorrer o mundo, Tipa depois de um tempo finalmente colocou os pés no chão, e agora só tem um objetivo imediato :

gravar profissionalmente o seu primeiro álbum : 100% COTON (“100% algodão”)
