The memories bring to life a beautiful young painter, his gaze caressing objects and colors and his simple and very human encounter with his old neighbor with whom he communicates discreetly by words and simple gestures. The philosophical tale is inspired VANITÉS, A pictorial genre born in the 16th century that ponders the transience and vainness of human life: objects symbolize human activities carring elements evoking time passing too quickly and fragility in the face death. Satire reveals greed, the lure of wealth for heirs who erase with their vanités the sweetness and beauty that the young painter and his old neighbor shared. The two characters just talk and share this moment of tranquility and work. The day unfolds at the pace of this tranquil countryside: the old lady feeding her chickens and rabbits, watering her flowers and flourishes with her rich internal memories. The sun is setting on this peaceful countryside. Another day the same painter continues his work in front of his easel, but the environment has changed, neighbors pass and speak about the strange old lady, a camera movement reveals the dead animals hanging from the clothes line, waiting to be shared among the heirs.
