The Vegan Butcher, a growing caterer and producer of plant-based meats & cheeses

Active for almost 5 years Many people already know the Vegan Butcher. We started almost 5 years ago and have since grown into a small company of four employees. As the name suggests, we are specialized in making 100% plant-based 'meat' and 'cheese'. Everything is made artisanally with high-quality, pure ingredients. This way we guarantee top quality and products that are completely different from what you can find in the supermarkets. A caterer in full growth For several years now, the Vegan Butcher has focused on offering catering services. We organize food for events (mainly in Brussels) for companies and organizations, but also wedding parties and all kinds of private events. We now count many large companies and organizations in Brussels as our regular customers. The Vegan Butcher is highly appreciated due to its artisanal character, personal approach and 100% plant-based identity. We make plant-based finger food, salads, hot meals, even drinks and on-site service can be arranged. What makes us unique There are of course many caterers in Brussels. What makes us different from the rest? First and foremost, we make everything artisanally in-house. Our high-quality meat and cheese substitutes are used in our catering offering, which no other caterer does. Omnivores will not miss meat or animal ingredients. No boring falafel sandwich with us! We provide delicious comfort food, fingerlickin' good. So we are a caterer that works 100% plant-based. In times of climate crisis, this is appreciated by many companies and private individuals who want to limit their carbon footprint. The food is also safe for people who eat halal, who are lactose intolerant, for vegans and vegetarians. Moreover, it is a nutritious food full of proteins, also perfect for athletes. What's our next step? We are now moving on to the next phase, where we want to scale up and become bigger. For this purpose we are purchasing a building of 450 square meters, which used to be a fish shop/cutting plant. We will use this building as our new production facility, which offers us sufficient space to expand our activities. There is room for at least 15 employees, there is enough space for work tables, there is a lot of storage space and also a big office space. Why expand? • Our current production place is far too small to handle our growth. • We will be able to develop more meat substitutes and vegan cheeses. • We will be able to handle a larger volume of B2B production (delivery to the catering industry) • We will be able to provide more weekly specials in our webshop. • We will be able to employ more people and provide them with an ethical job. • More plant-based food means less burden on the climate & environment. • We will be able to provide vegan meals to more companies and organizations in Brussels, including decision makers in the European sphere. • Belgium is lagging behind other countries in terms of plant-based growth. • There is an urgent need for more plant-based offerings and vegan caterers.
