WeBelong was born from a simple observation: our modern lifestyle participates in the destruction of the planet and this does not make us happy. It is possible to act ! From the four corners of the world, solutions are happening.

Our ambition ? To support these actions, to make them visible and to share with you, so all together, small and big ways, we are building a more sustainable future !

This crowdfunding campaign will enable us to finance the broadcast live of our up-coming event (Oct. 12-13) and make it accessible to a wide audience all around the world. By showcasing those who act today and by sharing their inspiring actions, we will influence consumers and inspire them to be part of the solution.

Bunker Roy turns illiterate women into solar engineers!

40 years ago, Sanjit Bunker Roy created the Barefoot College, a university for poor people. It is the only university to train uneducated women to become solar energy engineers. This tremendous initiative has been replicated in 89 countries.

Daan Roosegaarde, Dutch artist, designer and ecologist, cleans the air of cities.

Among several of his inspiring innovations, Daan created the Smog Free Tower : a "giant vacuum cleaner" that can purify up to 30,000 m³ of pollution per hour. This tower was set up in Beijing when the Chinese capital reached one of the largest pollution peaks in its history. It allows children to play in parks whose pollution is reduced by 60 to 70%.

My name is Nathalie. I am a mother of three children. After having worked more than 20 years for a large communication group, I was expatriated in China to launch and manage an event agency and especially to work on the Beijing Olympic Games. From living there, I became aware of the problems related to local pollution.

In 2012, I travelled to Rio de Janeiro for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. I banded together with people from countries who want to change the world. On the return flight, I became convinced of wanting to participate in the emergence of this new world, a world that makes sense.

Driven by inspiration and by opening myself to a new consciousness, I left my position as one of the managing director in a large group to become a start-up. That's how WeBelong was born!

I breathe a holistic dimension with the key message: take care of yourself, others and the planet.

For three years, I worked “for the glory” without counting my hours! Yet I feel richer. Inwardly. And believe me it's priceless. Even though we have had to move mountains, I have never regretted this change in my life. I'm doing my part and I am delighted.

We organize ‘WeBelong’, an eco-citizen annual event, in China. During 2 days and 2 nights we enchanted the future : we gather together pioneers with the same ideas and beliefs, we broadcast their live testimonies on line, so that you can be inspired by the proof of their solutions, to be like them and make our world a better place.

How do we do that? Through testimonies, sharing, movies, artists' performances, meetings, sensory experiences, and action! Each pioneer shares ecological tips so that as many of us as possible can adapt them to their daily lives.

Our event is held in China because pollution has no borders! Holding this event in one of the most polluted countries in the world, where also many solutions are emerging, to us it makes sense. And don’t forget that part of this problem is caused by western consumption.

Our goal is that this event can be seen on line by a lot of people in China and around the world. By connecting to each other, we can have an impact for a better future. Let’s make understand that change our way of thinking and behaviour, it is within our grasp. It CAN have impact. A lot of impact ! #Butterfly Effect. Change one thing, change everything !

To participate in this shift in consciousness and behaviour, we have devised a new event format. It’s time to think outside the box and to anchor oneself from within. We will change the world if we choose to change ourselves. Einstein is so right : "We cannot solve our problem with the same thinking we used when we created them"!

Our event is "neutral" in CO2 emissions. Calculations are made to offset with a financial contribution to a local NGO set up by our French partner EcoAct (transport, food, energy consumption ...).

We allow ourselves breathing moments to connect to the present. Artists are no longer content to create works, they also help to raise awareness and make us think about the consequences of human activity on the planet. That's why we invite them and support art in action for a greener planet!

We start the day with a collective meditation session. Our lifestyle is running at a fast pace. The goal of this moment of reconnection is to learn to calm the flow of thoughts, to bring attention to the moment present and to be inspired by future exchanges. Each participant is offered a positive inner experience, carried by a powerful collective energy.

We do not ask participants to become vegetarians or vegans despite the fact that most of them are against intensive farming. But we remind them that reducing their meat consumption is already a step forward. That every little step counts. We train the chef of the restaurant of the place that welcomes us. He and his team learn to cook delicious, colorful, tasty food without animal protein. After our visit, vegetarian and vegan dishes are added to the menu of the restaurant !

Gone is the traditional VIP dinner! Our dinner is a very special moment of reconnection to food. It takes place in silence, with conscience and with gratitude _/\_ We assure you, our speakers and our participants no longer consider the act of eating in the same way. That's enough of eating at your computer or your TV! We propose living a unique and enriching experience by developing full attention to what we eat.

As our action has no borders, we broadcast all our stories on Facebook and on our website. Whether you are in France or abroad you can follow it as if you were there. That's why we hope to have the budget to assemble the various testimonials and make them available on our website permanently

We benefited from a sponsorship program for over 3 years that expired in 2017. The patron now helps other projects to be born. That was the deal.
