Ikioi c'est un questionnement autour de l'élan qui crée et fait bouger chaque chose qui existe. Celui qui se manifeste dans la nature et dans nos actions; celui qui propulse une volonté d'agir ou le déchaînement de réactions chimiques entre molécules. Il s'agit du ressenti de cette force qui paraît révéler une sorte d'urgence de vie, une conviction de l'existence, la puissance de résister, le combat quotidien.

Toutes sortes d'images nourrissent le chemin de cette longue recherche, de ces questions sans réponse. Des vagues denses et des nuages vertigineux accompagnent le parcours, tous comme effets multiples de la même force. Et la danse elle aussi devient multiple, comme des centaines de feuilles différentes, appartenant à un même arbre.

Pourquoi ressent-on cette puissance, cette détermination d e vivre, d'évoluer...? Il s'agit d'une question mais aussi d'un hommage, une quête menée par l'émerveillement devant la force de cette pulsion.

Cette pièce chorégraphique cherche à établir un échange fort et sensible avec son public.

La dimension corporelle sera enrichie par l'intervention des arts plastiques, la vidéo et une création musicale.

Plusieurs étapes de création sont prévues à Montpellier et à Paris, afin de réunir toute l'équipe de Ikioi, venant de Berlin, Hambourg et Montpellier. À la fin de ces résidences, la pièce sera proposée aux salles de spectacle aux festivals en France et à l'étranger.

Ikioi is the questioning about the energy that keeps the elements in the universe together and in a constant movement. Nature is in the heart of this personal quest, the force that permits creatures to grow and the evolution of phenomenons in the vast world. Reflected in a personal level, this energy seems to reveal as a sort of urge of life or the conviction of existence, the power of resistance and daily struggle.

Through the crossing of improvisation and martial arts, the fragile and powerful warrior engages a compact body, building the space, reminding the design of branches, the force of the waves, the beat of this insistent impulse and the density of heavy environments. He becomes multiple yet one, as the leaves attached to a same tree.

Different images of rapidly changing clouds, a pushing sea and complex structures invite to a journey of imagination and the awakening of sensations.

This chorepgraphic piece seeks a strong and sensitive communication with tis public.

The physical dimension will be enriched by the intervention of plastic arts, video and a musical composition.

Several periods of creation will take place in Montpellier and in Paris, in order to gather the whole team of Ikioi, coming from Berlin, Hambourg and Montpellier. At the end of the residencies, the piece will be proposed to theaters and festivals in France and abroad.

Les Collaborateurs du projet

Javiera Hiault-Echeverria – Scénographie

Née au Chili en 1983, elle vit et travaille à Paris. Elle suit des études d'art à L'Instituto de arte de la Pontificia, Université catholique de Valparaiso, au Chili. Master à Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

En 2009, elle développe une recherche autour de la relation entre catastrophe et paysage en arts plastiques, publie des articles et réalise des expositions personnelles issues de sa recherche.

En 2011, elle collabore avec l'artiste chilien Renato Ordenes et ils développent ensemble plusieurs projets entre l'Europe et l'Amérique du Sud.

Actuellement elle est en résidence de printemps à la Maison Daura, au Centre d'art Georges Pompidou, Région Midi-Pyrénées.

Born in Chili in 1983, Javiera is currently based in Paris. She graduated from the Instituto de Arte de la Pontificia at the Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, in Chile. She continued her studies with a Master's degree at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

In 2009 she beggins a research around landscape and disaster and its relation to art, which results in personal exhibitions and the publication of articles.

In 2011, she develops several projects in Europe and South America, in collaboration with the Chilean artist Renato Ordenes.

She is currently in residency at the Maison Dura, at the Art Center Georges Pompidou and at the Région Midi-Pyrénées.

Victor Moïse - Composition musicale

Victor Moïse aka Esïom est un compositeur, producteur et musicien dont l'esthétique varie entre la pop et les musiques électroniques expérimentales.

Parallèlement à ses études dans les musiques actuelles et électroacoustique, il a participé en tant que pianiste et arrangeur à de nombreux projets musicaux, et a composé pour différents spectacles pluridisciplinaires, mêlant théâtre, danse, cirque, ou encore défilés haute coiffure et haute couture.

Aujourd'hui basé à Berlin, Esïom travaille principalement sur de la musique à l'image, et sur le premier album de son projet solo, encouragé par le label bordelais Banzaï Lab.

Victor Moïse aka Esïom, is a composer, producer and musician who create a music between pop and experimental electronic music.

As he was studying actual music and electroacoustic, he took part as a pianist in many projects, and composed for different multidisciplinary shows mixing theatre, dance, circus and fashion shows.

Currently he lives in Berlin and works principally on music for image and on his first solo album, supported by Banzaï Lab, a label from Bordeaux.

Sébastien Casino - Vidéo

Sébastien Casino est un musicien, videaste et graphiste originaire de Montpellier, né en 1978.

Tour à tour à l'origine des structures The Groove Of Satyre et Confetti Noir et instigateur des groupes Phonomorphia et NO, Sébastien evolue au travers de projets personnels et conséquents entre musique et image.

Les librairies sonore Dialogue & Random (2005 et 2006) ou l'album Diagone du groupe NO (2010) resteront les fossiles de cette activité tout comme les mixtapes Acoustik Addiction (1998 et 2000).

Il se produit en solo de 2008 à 2009 sous le label de Subtitle (figure du rap indépendant californien) B.E.A.R recordings.

Promoteur de concerts, gérant de label indépendant, directeur de communication du Baloard (salle de concert), assistant de Michel Gondry, graphiste et videaste sont autant d'activités apprivoisées avec le temps.

Dans une approche méticuleuse et autodidacte de chacun de ces savoir faire, Sébastien traverse les époques comme les disciplines avec intransigeance.

Sebastien has created several artistic structures and groups (such as The Groove Of Satyre and Confetti Noir; Phonomorphia and NO) which have puntuated his artistic evolution, through personal and consistent projects around music and image.

Some of the fossils of this period are the sound libraries Dialogue & Random (2005 and 2006) or the album Diagone, by the group NO (2010), as well as the mixtapes Acoustic Addiction (1998 and 2000).

Between 2008 and 2009 he goes on solo with the label of the artist and producer Subtitle (independent californian rapper) : B.E.A.R. recordings.

Throughout his artistic career, Sebastien has also been manager of an independent label, concert promoter, director of communications for Baloard (concert hall), assistant for Michel Gondry, graphic designer and filmmaker.

Developping each one of these activities with a meticulous and autodidactic approach, Sebastien goes through disciplines and time with intransigeant rigor.

Sofía Laya - Création lumières

Sofia Laya est née en 1989 à Mérida, au Venezuela. Elle vit en Allemagne depuis 2006. En 2011 à l'université de Hambourg, elle découvre pour la première fois le travail de la lumière au cours d'un projet étudiant de production d'émission télévisée. Après plusieurs expériences de mise en lumière dans divers courts métrages et publicités, elle commence en 2013 un stage dans une structure de conception d'éclairages architecturaux et y travaille depuis.

Sofia Laya was born in 1989 in Mérida, Venezuela and is now based in Germany, since 2006. Her first experience in light design was in 2011 at the HAW Hamburg, during the production of a Students TV show, where she became Light manager the following years. Later, another experience introduced her into the world of architecture lighting. In 2013, she worked for different short movies and publicities as light designer. After that, she started an Internship in an Architecture Light Design Office, and has been working there ever since.

Où en sommes-nous ?

Aujourd'hui, le projet a déjà bien avancé ! La première phase de création a été bien impulsée pendant les trois semaines de résidence à la Maison Pour Tous George Sand à Montpellier.

Pendant ce laps de temps, nous avons pu travailler la construction chorégraphique, bien sûr, mais aussi la vidéo et la scénographie avec Javiera et Sébastien.

Cette fin de résidence a donné lieu à une répétition publique, première vraie représentation et confrontation avec le public. Un moment d'échange très enrichissant qui nous booste encore plus pour continuer à faire grandir ce projet !

Currently, the project is already quite advanced ! The first period of the creation was greatly impulsed by the 3 week residency in the MPT George Sand at Montpellier.

During this period, we were able to develop the choreographic construction. It was also the occasion to start exploring the creation of scenography and video with Javiera and Sébastien.

At the end of the residency, an open rehearsal allowed the public to have a first approach to the piece : a nourishing and constructive exchange that encourages us to continue giving live to this project !
