On the 10th of July, Smarita ma’ams, Destiny Foundation/Reflection founder's birthday was celebrated at the head office. The interns Drew and Samina’s birthdays followed on the 12th and 17th, which were respectively celebrated at the community center and the homestay. The beneficiaries of Destiny took leadership in organizing the activities, decoration and snacks for the events. Happy birthday to all of them!

Smarita ma'ams brithday at the head office

Drew's birthday at the community center

Samina's birthday at the homestay

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:

1. Sound Ball

The interns began the workshop with a theater game called “Sound Ball”, passing an imaginary ball around the circle making silly sounds. There were giggles galore as the girls “dropped” the ball, picking it up for each other and making even sillier sounds as they became more comfortable. The game helps develop interactive imagination skills and a safe space to express themselves.

2. Trust Building Games:

Later, the whole group joined in a trust game where one student tried to guide another blindfolded friend through an obstacle course. Trusting each other in a frequently competitive environment is a growth area for many of the girls and the game also helped demonstrate how difficult it can be to lead others, especially without a common vision.

3. Learned Games

The girls treated the interns to a game of their own called “Pass the Pass”. While playing music they would pass a rolled T-shirt as fast as possible before someone paused the music and the unlucky student holding the shirt had to dance in the middle of the circle for the rest of the game! The interns got a chance to show off a lot of dance moves!

Children playing Trust game

Children playing Pass the Pass with the interns

Dear Backers,

We are quite overwhelmed with your love and support so far. We have reached 32% of our target in the first 4 days. THANK YOU!

Previous research has demonstrated that reaching this funding level is a good prospect of success. But we still have a long way to go. In order for Destiny to receive their training, we still have 68% of our target left to be achieved. We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that you will back us up.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Team Destiny
