The Tanzanian project

WHO WE ARE? Founded in 2018, the Dauphine International Youth (DIY), is a student society that carries out humanitarian missions around the world every year 🌎 in order to help those more in need. After 2 missions conducted respectively in Vietnam in 2018 🇻🇳 and Nepal in 2019 🇳🇵, this year, the DIY hopes to go to Tanzania 🇹🇿 to conduct a new humanitarian action! ✈️ WHAT IS THE TANZANIAN PROJECT?✈️ During 15 days, in May 2022, we will go in association with the International Voluntary Service (IVS) in the villages of Kibele and Tunguu, located in the rural area of Zanzibar. On site we will carry out various missions: 1° EDUCATIONAL MISSION 🎓 - Assist the profesors in teaching several subjects at the PDS school (Maths, English, Plastic Arts...) - Construction of the first classroom in the "African We Dream" elementary school, also founded by the PDS team. 2° PLAYFUL MISSION ⚽️ - To propose to children both physical 💪 and artistic 🎨 activities to stimulate their growth. - To make children aware of good eating habits and nutritional balance 🍏 Our objective is to achieve as many missions possible above, but more globally to bring all the help we can in the daily life of these families of the villages of Tunguu and Kibele. 3° ENVIRONMENTAL MISSION 🌍 - Raising children's awareness of climate issues and recycling to make them become actors of tomorrow's world! 🌱 ⏳ OUR TIMELINE ⌛️ September - November 2021: Validation by the DIY team of the humanitarian project and first contact with the local association via the IVS January 2022: Charity gala organised to promote our project which will be our first major fundraising event 💃🏼 March 2022: Race against Hunger in London with various English universities competing 🏃♂️ November - April 2022: Contacting potential sponsors to fund our project 💵 May 2022: Departure for Tanzania!! 🌍 A word from the president: DIY is an association that is close to my heart because it brings together students for the respect of human beings and international solidarity. This trip will allow us to take a step back from our lifestyles and think about how we can implement change on a larger scale. As Meghan Markle said, "There is a myth that those who do humanitarian work have a saviour mentality, but the relationship is mutual." This experience will help us to push our boundaries so that we can grow and evolve in a path that is other-centred.
