Bonjour! We are one costume designer plus a fiber-artist, who are both passionate about art and we hope to share our creativity and crafting energy with more people! Right after years of work experiences on both ends, now is the time we team up to launch ATELIER GOOD THINGS ! Because together, we always go further ! GOOD THINGS = peanut ?! 🥜 In mandarin, “Hao Shi Fa Sheng” means “good things happen”, and if we pronounce the part “Fa Sheng” with a little bit cute Taiwanese accent, it will sound like “Hua Sheng” which also means “peanut” 🥜. — Okay then, what is Atelier GOOD THINGS? A happy place where we create, share and have a lot fun! Atelier GOOD THINGS proposes a creative space for all-ages in Lyon. Here, we enjoy hand-crafting. We highlight the importance of being eco-responsible when making arts. We open to all kinds of craftwork! Here is your safe space to unleash and to share. We celebrate you ! We organise monthly events for everyone to meet and exchange experiences. We welcome you to come have a cup of coffee and talk about your great ideas with us. For children aged from 5 to 12, we offer creative and artistic workshops using various techniques: engraving, screen printing, sewing, knitting, weaving, painting, etc. "24 Seasons in Taiwan" workshop Following up traditional lunar calendar as people in Taiwan do, the JIEQI workshop is conducted in our native language; it's originally designed for french-mandarin bilingual children, but it is also open to all who wish to discover taiwanese culture with fun hand-crafts. Sewing, knitting, crochet and embroidery classes For adults and teenagers, we provide a wide range of classes for you to discover the skills, to deepen our techniques and to have fun ! In the process of making, we learn to build up our wardrobe (memade/DIY) and respect slow fashion, and be more aware of the cost of clothing. Knitting café/ apéro Everyone brings their project and come knit and chat.😙 For an afternoon or an evening, come with your beautiful work and spirit. Meet and learn from other makers in our cozy studio! Open Studio Once a month, GOOD THINGS workshop open its doors for free to an artist/maker who wishes to test out their talent or class to the public. 【Little Haberdashery】 Yarn · Fabric · Embroidery · Haberdashery The GOOD THINGS haberdashery is not big but we present a nice selection of colorful wools, Okeo-Tex/Organic quality fabrics, and lots of good things to accompany your creations! If you are thirsty for beautiful materials for your projects, open the door of the GOOD THINGS little haberdashery! We will advise you with smiles and to help bringing your best ideas to life! Our products are mainly sourced from suppliers in France and in Europe. We are committed to contributing to the (re)development of french companies specializing in fabrics, wool and haberdashery. The GOOD THINGS haberdashery is a welcoming, inspiring and lively place. For DIY fans, your happy place is here! — Team GOOD THINGS The worksop is managed by two Taiwanese living in Lyon. A little Asian touch will always be present: in the decoration, workshops for children linked to Taiwanese traditions or a cup of Taiwanese mountain tea. Wang Ying TU GARNIER Co-founder and Sewing and Knitting Teacher — MFA from New York University in Design for Stage and Film, and BA from National Taiwan University in theatrical costume design, after learning in two very different countries, Wang- Ying finds her deeply passionate about textiles and making. She has participated in designing and creating clothing in both New York City and Taiwan. These experiences gave her the tools and strength to understand the scope of textile, and convinced her strongly that clothing could be meaningful but also sustainable in our life. Her commitment for GOOD THINGS is to embody these values, and to offer everyone the opportunity to dig in their creativity and to unleash the power of making. Wang Ying believes that everyone is capable of creating garments with their own hands that they will be proud of, and learning the techniques that will stay with us for life. Chien-Han JUAN Co-founder and teacher for artistic classes for children / Fibre-artist — Origin from Taiwan, moved to France in 2012. For following my passion in photography and graphic arts, I studied at Ecole Nationale des Beaux-arts in Saint-Etienne right until the birth of my first child in 2016. That's moment that I burst this desire of devoting myself to sewing and creating my own children clothing brand "L'herbe qui danse". Carrying the love for the world of children, I began developping creative workshops, introducing people of all ages to various craft techniques such as linocut, screen printing, knitting, crochet, etc. Today, I team up with my friend Wang-Ying, I want to extend the adventure by offering unique workshops in a fun and cozy place!
